Join us October 18th at 2 PM or 5 PM for $30 per person / $50 per couple to throw some pie with the Vero Chefs. After a brief history of pizza, students will begin preparing their own pizza using classic techniques passed down through generations. Once students are able to master these methods of hand-stretching pizza dough, they will move on to using our wood-fired Neapolitan oven to cook their pizza the same way Italians have cooked pizza for hundreds of years. Andrea Frizzi, known as energetic owner/host of Il Posto, brings his take on true Neapolitan cuisine to Denver Central Market. Andrea started his years of culinary experience at the age of 13 in the kitchen of his Milano family restaurant. Hints to the true origin of Frizzi’s creations fill the menu at Vero, such as the Massimeno pizza – named after the 98 person town and beloved birthplace of his, Father Andrea Dad Livio. His family home, built in 1831, and the legacy of his parents, remain there today.
Vero, sister restaurant to Il Posto, offers specialty wood-fired pizzas and handmade pasta. Pizzas are cooked fire-side in the exquisitely mosaic-tiled oven, itself made from Vesuvian soil. Needing no more than 2 minutes in the 800+ degree oven, patrons can enjoy a freshly crafted pie in their hands…pronto! Look forward to a diverse, seasonal menu and weekly specials.
